LITERATURE:

The Burchfield Center for Western New York Art, Charles Cary Rumsey, 1879-1922, Buffalo, New York, 1983, p. 33, fig. 42 (another example illustrated).

Charles Cary Rumsey (August 29, 1879 – September 21, 1922) was an American sculptor and an eight-goal polo player.

While still a student at Harvard, he exhibited a sculpture of an Indian at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo in 1901.

He worked mainly in bronze. His passion for horses saw him create statues of the Thoroughbred horses Hamburg and Burgomaster for Harry Payne Whitney, Good and Plenty for Thomas Hitchcock, and World Champion trotter Nancy Hanks for John E. Madden.

The triumphal arch and colonnade at the Manhattan entrance to the Manhattan Bridge

When Rumsey returned from Paris in 1906, he established himself in an art studio on 59th Street in New York City. He soon thereafter began sculptures for the massive house being built by architects Carrère and Hastings for the railroad magnate E.H. Harriman, called Arden; he did a fireplace surround and other sculptural decorations for the music room there, as well as the "Three Graces Fountain." During this time he courted Harriman's daughter, Mary Harriman; they both shared a love of horses and had first met at the Meadow Brook Steeplechase Association races on Long Island. They married in 1910, much to the surprise of New York society. They maintained a home in Brookville, New York, on Long Island, where they raised three children.

Among Rumsey's other works, he did a statue of Francisco Pizarro erected in Trujillo, Spain, the Brownsville War Memorial in Brownsville, Brooklyn, a copy of the "Three Graces Fountain" from Arden House installed in Mirror Lake at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo (where Rumsey is buried), and the controversial figure of a nude woman called "The Pagan." Perhaps his most celebrated work is the 1916 frieze on Carrère and Hastings' Manhattan Bridge in New York City, titled "Buffalo Hunt.

We’re happy!
For the price, this suit was great. My son is a bigger guy and when we rent tuxes, the pants always look terrible. This one, we were happy with. He usually wears a 2x in clothes but we sized up to the 3x. He’s 6’2” and prob 270. Maybe more but the vest was still a little snug.

Caviar and Champagne look for a hot dog and beer price!!
Color: Black (Stretch Fabric), Size: Large
At this point in my life, my days of spending close to $1K for a suit are over. Now, more worried about saving enough money for retirement AND my two kids' college funds. So when I was invited to a "black tie affair" I thought, "Crap. I don't own a tuxedo and will have to rent." Calling my local tux rental shop, I was SHOCKED at how much a one-night rental would cost (average $150/night - yes, it's been over 20 plus years since I had to rent a tux but wow)! So my wife suggested I look on Amazon and see if there was something that might work. After seeing the reviews for the YND Slim Fit tuxedo, I decided to take a chance. And boy, am I glad I did!! I have been thoroughly impressed. The value for money is outstanding—this suit offers a high-end look and impeccable fit at a fraction of the cost compared to suits 10 times its price. The suit exudes sophistication and style, making a powerful statement. The attention to detail in design is evident, and the finish is almost on par with luxury suits that come with a hefty price tag. The fit is nicely tailored for an "off-the-rack" suit, not too boxy or not too "slim" (I'm 6'0, 190lbs, and purchased the 'Large'). The suit highlights the best features while providing optimum comfort. In summary, this suit is a true gem, offering exceptional value, a remarkable look, a superb fit, and style that rivals much more expensive options. Highly recommended for those seeking quality without breaking the bank.

Very nice suit! Pay attention to the measurements and sizing! It worked out great for a prom suit. It did come with a vest, tie and cuff links also.

Gorgeous But Size Up
Color: Burgundy (Stretch Fabric), Size: Small
The suit has a beautiful, rich burgundy color — truly eye‑catching and elegant. Unfortunately, the fit was a major issue. I recommend sizing up at least one size, especially if you have fuller thighs or glutes. The pants were very tight in the thigh and buttocks area, the vest didn’t cover the lower hip area, and the jacket sleeves ran short with a tight fit in the shoulders. Overall, the small felt more like a youth small rather than an adult small. Our set also did not include the pocket square as advertised, though it did come with a white dress shirt and a mini black tie with a matching pocket square. The material itself felt okay — not bad, but not great. We really wanted to love this suit because the color is gorgeous, but due to the sizing inconsistencies and missing item, we couldn’t keep it.

It stains white shirt
Color: Burgundy (Stretch Fabric), Size: Large
Nice suit, but Very dissatisfied the color is not fast. It stained my husbands white shirt when he used it for a recent event.
