This Blues for the Bears CD supports PBI (Polar Bears International). This CD raises funds for PBI but also allows the stores to make their regular full profit! Only Blues Music are donating 100% of the wholesale profits to PBI. All the record companies & artists are donating the songs free of charge. The aim was to produce a top quality CD that would help everyone concerned. For PBI they obviously get some much needed funds for their Australian arm of their operations, plus the 12 page full colour booklet has a lot of great photo's & information to educate people about the plight of the polar bears & global warming. Quite possibly some people who buy this to support the bears, may discover music they never knew about. PBI Australia was set up only a few years ago by Kerry Haynes-Lovell who brought the polar bears to Sea World on the Gold Coast. PBI Australia's main focus in education, starting a few years ago with just a few schools & now expanding the program every year. All the people working with PBI do so on a volunteer basis, and quite often expenses come out of their pockets. One big thing they do each year is take 2 student to Canada to Polar Bear Camp, which is an International leadership & education camp for year 11 students that get involved with the PBI projects at their schools. Obviously PBI rely on donations & sponsorship to get the kids there & back. Photos for the booklet came mostly from PBI founder Robert Buchanan in Canada & are National Geo quality shots.

Precise and durable
Color: Birch
Best coffee scale for the price. No crazy features which makes it very easy to use. Small enough to store in a drawer and durable enough to not worry about it breaking. Scale is very precise which makes it great for V60 and Chemex

Great Coffee Scale
Color: Onyx Black, Color: Onyx Black
Absolutely love this coffee scale! For starters it was so well packaged. It is definitely worth what you pay for it. It has a silicon removable mat that fits snugly over the top of the scale. That makes it easy to pop it off to clean if you spill on it. The scale responds instantly to changes in weight which helps to give you accurate pour over results every single time.
The scale also includes a built-in timer with a count-up or down control. It also has an auto shutoff but gives you plenty of time before it shuts off. There are multiple units to choose from when measuring. Overall just a really great scale and I'm so glad I purchased it!

great scale (read tips for its super sensitivity)
Color: Onyx Black, Color: Onyx Black
in hopes this will help anyone else who bought this scale- this thing is super sensitive to vibrations. if your scale is getting off calibration for seemingly no reason, make sure the sides and the back aren’t touching anything else and that the bottom is on a flat surface and it will fix it entirely, trust me!! but aside from that, this scale works absolutely perfectly. it’s just the right size for my morning coffee, has great battery life, and is really straightforward to use. plus the silicone top makes it really easy to clean and looks nice on my countertop. the timer is super convenient for making coffee, this is an amazing scale for this price point

1 year review: Excellent coffee scale
Color: Onyx Black
I bought this about a year ago and have used it daily ever since.
The scale is easy to read, fast to update, and is precise. My previous coffee scale cracked from the repeated heating from my v60 carafe even with a silicone pad within 6 months. This scale has endured and I'm quite happy with it's durability.
It's accurate and precise enough I actually use it with my bread machine as well. It's a nice, low weight scale overall.
Cleaning is fairly easy, I just wipe down with a damp cloth. You can pull the silicone pad off and wash it more thoroughly if you want.
My only down side is that I find the batteries drain a little quickly. My normal kitchen scale can last years on a button battery, while I usually have to replace the batteries here every 6 months. I don't use the scale for more than 3-4 minutes at a time daily and once or twice a week a second time per day, and whether the battery life is due to the brightness of the display or the polling frequency of the scale, it's a minor enough quibble to not ding it's rating.
It's not a cheap scale, but it appears to be one of those "buy once for a long time" investments. If you're serious about coffee dosing and measuring your water for pour over, it's easy to recommend.

Excellent coffee scale!
Love this scale! The display is pleasing, high-contrast and very clear. It has a silicone cover, and there are zero gaps around the screen and buttons, so it's easily cleaned and I don't worry about damaging the internals with water or crumbs.
There is a tiny bit of float, typically less than a gram, and only occasionally. For example, I'll weigh out 19.3g of beans, seal the bag, and come back to 18.9g. It's minor enough and infrequent enough that it doesn't concern me at all.
The readout is quick and responsive, and I love the timer. At first it seems a little confusing to switch between counting up and counting down, but after doing it once I have no trouble with it even half-asleep. Just hold the units button, press it again to change between modes, and use power & tare to set minutes and seconds if counting down (use play/pause to confirm each setting). Takes less than 10 seconds.
Overall it's quick, accurate, and well-made. I love that it has a much smaller footprint than my old kitchen scale, and looks sleek on the counter. Perfect addition to my coffee station! I also highly recommend their gooseneck kettle if you're in the market ☕
