Mission: The Plight of the MIRO
In all 8 volumes of the book, Exploring Our World: Meet Amazing Animals of the Seven Continents and the Caribbean Isles, where a child ÒMIROÓ star enlightens us, through inquisitive questioning, on life in their world. Not only do they require knowledge of their ancestors, name meaning, physical characteristics, behavioral patterns, and their senses, they shamelessly claim their icon-ship as cultural symbols of the animal kingdom and as famous engineers, track stars, and superheroes. They promote world peace and diplomacy in their duties as Òcultural ambassadorsÓ, following in the footsteps of JamaicaÕs musical group, Third World song titled ÒReggae AmbassadorÓ.
On a more serious note, coming out of the mouth of babes, child MIROs, with a big heart but little voice of their own, belt out a loud cry for help in a chorus of condemnation. To all who read the pages of these books, these child stars are imploring us, through their profiles, the question narratives, and the appendices, to take a stand on the plight of their kind. Animal/MIRO cruelty as noted in the perils and threats section, comes in the form of inhumane treatment from physical abuse and torture, exploitation as circus animals, movie actors, and forced fighting/bullfighters, human predation, pollution, loss of habitat, displacement, inflicting pains and suffering, and neglect as well as emotional abuse from caging that prevents social interaction with family and friends, deprivation and starvation from feeding them wrong foods, and hoarding, cross-breeding, overhunting, overtraining, and over-testing them.
These child stars are staking a claim to their future in their birth countries, regions, and habitats that their ancestors lived in for millions of years and now they are being ÒevictedÓ from their own ancestral lands and pushed on the streets for vehicular traffic to run them over or for them to rummage in garbage bins for food, only to be shot dead for intruding on private property in sprawling luxurious housing complexes. They are urging humankind to fight on their behalf through legal advocacy, demonstrations, and peaceful protests for humane slaughtering techniques, ethical testing, and delivering compassionate speeches in a race against time.

Simple AND essential, everyone should read
Format: Kindle
I've been Christian for many years, reading many books, sermons, biblical readings, but we never stop having more beautiful insights of this glorious Christian path laid before our minds and hearts. This book is a wise, beautiful, encouraging, and simply amazing way to see and live out the Christian life and calling, rich with meaning in our current broken world and the redeemed and restored world in Christ. Are you yearning for real spirituality, joy, justice, beauty, relationships, but they seem somehow out of reach? Read this book. It is simple yet profound. Take the time to savor the words of this book alongside prayer, biblical reading, community, daily work...And partake in the overlap of heaven and earth with the Lord.

Why "Simply Christian" is a "must read"
It presents a compelling case for Christianity without attempting to bully the reader (as C. S. Lewis often does in his essays) and without relying on all those "code words" that long-time Christians find familiar but others do not. This is the Gospel in plan English. Bravo! It firmly insists that Christianity makes claims about history - that Jesus lived, died, and rose again, and that this resurrection is the central event in the story of God's re-creation of our fallen world. It insists that Christians be active participants in the future unfolding of God's plan. We are each called to play a unique role in it. It insists that there is a transcendent realm, another world, that can and does intersect or overlap with our own world, especially in sacraments, in worship, in Bible reading, and in prayer. Moreover, just as the temple was, for Jews in Jesus time, a place where heaven and earth overlapped, now we, as individual Christians, are called to be such places of overlap, where the light of Jesus shines through us. It highlights the crucial importance of forgiveness. Just as God has forgiven us our sins, so are we to forgive others. The Lord's prayer is explicit on this point. Becoming a Christian, Wright asserts, is not a matter or accepting certain improbable factual assertions, but rather a matter of trusting in God and accepting our role in unfolding his plan for the world. Rather than being dissected, as in a laboratory, or treated merely as an instrument of historical or linguistic research, the Bible is in fact one of the principal ways in which God addresses us, to prepare us for our role in fulfilling his ultimate plans. It is another place where this world and God's world overlap. Current debates over "literal" versus "metaphorical" ways of reading scripture are, in Wright's view, counterproductive. The Bible eludes these simplistic categories, which should be abandoned. At its core, then, the "faith" to which the Bible calls us is essentially trusting in a God who has revealed himself in history, who has begun, through Jesus' death and resurrection, to redeem the world and transform it into his kingdom, who invites us into to an intimate relationship with him, who demands that we become all that we were created and meant to be, who forgives us when we fall short of that mark, and who invites us to play a significant role in moving forward his plan for the world. For Wright, Christian faith is not just a matter of spiritual feelings that are quite independent of what we say and do. It makes demands upon us that can only be met in the realm of thought and behavior. As C. S. Lewis did in his fiction, "Simply Christian" persuasively invites its readers to recognize that there is a transcendent reality that impinges on our ordinary world, that the God who rules this realm has made himself known in history and continues to do so, that we are part of his plan to renew his creation, and, consequently, that what we think and do has cosmic significance.

Interesting, but no Lewis
Format: Paperback
Some books can be completely conveyed in about eight sentences or a couple paragraphs. This is one of them. Everything else beyond the core thesis is unnecessary or repetitive. This book probably would have made a good article. Wright is a well known Pauline expert, but in this book he takes a step out of his comfort zone. I usually find Paul rambling and confusing enough, so I look to experts like Wright to clarify Paul for me. But in this book, Wright seems to put on his Paul hat and just reiterates Pauline gobbledy-gook. Throughout, he presents long passages comprised solely of Pauline quotes. This book is billed as an updated version of C.S. Lewis’s “Mere Christianity.” Both Wright and Lewis are seeped in their Anglican tradition. But where Lewis looks at the various Christian denominations and identifies what’s common and good among them all, Wright sees differences and insists they are all wrong. In alienating evangelicals on the one hand, and Catholics on the other, Wright suggests that to be Simply Christian you must abandon your faith traditions that are at odds with his. I can’t imagine Lewis taking this tack. I give this three stars, for its clear style, for being thought provoking, and for its call to personal introspection.

Great Daily Vitamin
Size: 100 Count (Pack of 1)
I needed a daily vitamin but didn't know where to start, so this was my 1st choice. I don't know specifically what I was lacking in my daily diet, but within a week of taking these, I felt much more energetic than before. Been using them for approximately 2 months now and I will be purchasing them in the future. Pricing is within reason.
